When Beyoncé was asked by GQ about what she’s trying to say about race through her album name, Cowboy Carter, and her whisky brand, SirDavis, Beyoncé responded by asking everyone to ‘take a minute to research the word cowboy’. She goes on to speak about the fact that a quarter of all cowboys were Black and how ‘The word cowboy comes from those who were called boys, never given the respect they deserved. No one would dare call a Black man handling cows “Mister” or “Sir”. For me, SirDavis is a sign of earned respect’. 📸 Bryce Anderson #beyonce #cowboycarter #sirdavis #beyonceknowlescarter #cowboy #interview #artsandculture
