“I had a life, and suddenly, I lost all of it”. Saman Soltani has always dreamt of going to the Olympics. She’s now qualified - not in her home country, and not even in the sport where she was national champion for ten consecutive years… Saman was the face of artistic swimming in Iran. But realised she would have to change sports if she wanted to compete internationally. It is not acceptable for women to wear the swimming outfits, and not wear a hijab, which means women can’t compete anywhere else other than in Iran. Saman began kayaking alongside her artistic swimming - but it was at a training camp in Spain where her life would change. She was told she couldn’t return to Iran… Saman has now qualified for the Refugee Olympic Team, and is going to her first Olympics in Paris. Saman’s message to everyone is keep fighting, and to never give up your dreams. 📸 Joe fuchs, Mia gregori, Jürgen knoth #RoadToParis #Paris2024 #Refugee #RefugeeOlympicTeam #Paris2024 #ParisOlympics #Olympics #...
