The ‘male IUD’ is being developed in two separate trials, and it’s a 10-20 minute procedure (under local or general anaesthetic) that involves a hydrogel being injected into the sperm duct. This will turn semi-solid, and is meant to block sperm from getting through. It should last for around 10 years and is reversible.
