Girls continue to outperform boys with their GCSE results. The gap between boys’ and girls’ A-level pass rates has narrowed to its lowest level since 2000 🎓 girls grades have fell slightly, and boys have increased. The gap now stands at 5.8 percentage points, down from 6.2 points last year. It was at its widest in 2017, at 9.5 points, and has been narrowing ever since. Analysis from the Education Policy Institute has previously linked a decline in girls’ performance since the pandemic to 'worrying trends around girls’ wellbeing', including worsening mental health and social media use. #GCSE #GCSEresultsday #UKnews
