A cash-strapped council has approved £350,000 plans to change the colour of wheelie bin lids to avoid confusion – despite critics pointed out stickers could have done the same job for a fraction of the price. East Suffolk Council, which is which is run by a coalition of Greens, Lib Dems and an independent councillor, was concerned homeowners would get mixed up between a new grey wheelie bin with a green lid for paper and card and all-green garden waste bins already in use. In a move championed as 'cost-effective' by Green councillor Sally Noble, the local authority's environment lead, the move has now been approved unanimously by cabinet members on Tuesday. #council #tax #bin #eastsuffolk #government
