Meet MECCA's 2023 Holiday artist. We're proud to have collaborated with Yankunytjatjara artist Kaylene Whiskey this year, as part of MECCA M-POWER and the National Gallery of Victoria's (NGV) ongoing partnership to support women in the arts. Residing on Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Country, Whiskey's works incorporate pop culture references alongside traditional Anangu culture. She hopes to inspire her Community with this collection, saying “I wanted young girls to see my art and see themselves, strong and proud kungkas [women], looking good and feeling happy!" Stay tuned to see Whiskey's work across MECCA's seasonal packaging (coming soon) and on display now at The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia on level 2 (entry is free). #MECCAmoment #NGV #NGVMelbourne
