Experts say caregivers industry needs better compensation.
Caring for older adults is getting harder.
Caregivers are not easy to recruit with low wages and complications with travel, according to Cody Byers of Home Assist Health, a home care service provider in downtown Phoenix.
At Home Assist Health, home health care workers make a minimum base rate of $14 per hour. The current Arizona minimum wage is $12.80.
Industrywide, the workers can make less depending on the minimum wage threshold in different states, he said.
