ANDY BURNHAM ANNOUNCES NEW PARKING FINE RULES AS DRIVERS GET MORE PROTECTION FROM PRIVATE PARKING FIRMS. Drivers will be given five minutes to decide whether to park and an extra 10 minutes to leave after their parking session ends, under new rules announced by the government. Motorists who make minor mistakes, such as entering the wrong number plate or forgetting to display a permit, will face a maximum £20 charge if their appeal is successful. Parking charges will also be cancelled on appeal for issues beyond drivers’ control, including vehicle breakdowns, medical emergencies and broken ticket machines. The maximum parking charge will remain capped at £100, while companies that breach the rules risk losing access to DVLA data. The new code applies across England, Scotland and Wales, but an implementation date has not yet been confirmed. #ThisIsMoney #Money #News #UK
