Under Dutch law, employers are required to pay at least 70% of an employee’s salary during long-term illness — for a maximum of 104 weeks. In many cases, collective labor agreements top this up to 100% in the first year. During this period, both the employer and employee must actively work on reintegration, meaning efforts are made to help the employee return to work when medically possible. After two years, if someone is still unable to work, they may qualify for long-term disability benefits under the Dutch social security system. #Netherlands #Paid #Sick #Leave #Money
