Anthropic is tightening its rules on how people interact with its AI chatbot Claude, prohibiting 'sustained and needless abusive or cruel behavior' towards its models. The company says the restriction is aimed at extreme, repeated cases and does not cover ordinary frustration, model testing or dark creative themes. Anthropic says Claude can already end conversations it considers persistently harmful, describing the feature as a precaution amid uncertainty over whether AI systems could ever have moral status. The move has sparked debate, with some welcoming the focus on AI welfare while critics warn against treating chatbots as if they were human. #AI #claude #anthropic #news #technology
