Russia and North Korea have opened their first dedicated road link, creating a new route for cargo and eventually passengers between the two countries. The roughly 0.6-mile bridge spans the Tumen River and is expected to handle up to 300 vehicles a day, with trucks using it initially before passenger traffic begins later this year. The opening comes as Moscow and Pyongyang deepen their military and economic partnership, with North Korea already providing troops and weapons to support Russia’s war in Ukraine. While both governments have described the bridge as a boost for trade and tourism, critics warn the new route could also make it easier to move military supplies, personnel and other resources between the two allies. 📸 Getty, Reuters #northkorea #russia #news
