Electronic Arts is officially no longer a publicly traded company after completing a $55 billion all-cash acquisition. The publisher is now jointly owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners. The deal became official after EA confirmed it had received all required regulatory approvals, including clearance from the European Commission. The acquisition closed on August 4, bringing an end to EA's time on the public stock market. The PIF, Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, is joined in the deal by technology investment firm Silver Lake and Affinity Partners, the investment company founded by Jared Kushner. Together, the three groups now own one of gaming's biggest publishers. #news #gaming #money #buissness
