Criterion Games has no plans to develop a new Need for Speed or Burnout game, according to a new report. In an interview with IGN speaking on the studio’s 30th anniversary, VP & GM of Battlefield Studios Europe Rebecka Coutaz said that Criterion is ‘solely focused on Battlefield.’ The UK studio known for its racing games has been one of the arms supporting EA’s Battlefield series, but it seems Criterion have no plans to return to its roots anytime soon. The studio’s new logo even reads ‘Criterion: a Battlefield Studio.’ EA has not formally confirmed the end of the Need for Speed franchise, but when asked whether Criterion will return to developing other projects outside of Battlefield, Coutaz maintained that the studio has no other focuses. #gaming #needforspeed #racinggames #battlefield
