Valve has even acknowledged the shortages on its store, saying that ‘Steam Deck OLED may be out-of-stock intermittently in some regions due to memory and storage shortages.’ The scarcity has been tied to the rising demands of AI, which have been first in line for the components from manufacturers, pricing out those in the consumer market. Steam Decks aren’t the only gaming products affected by the shortages, either, with prices of PC components and home consoles across the world rising dramatically.
