The Watch Dogs gaming franchise has reportedly been shelved, according to Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson. Speaking on the Insider Gaming podcast, Henderson said ‘As far as I’m aware at this moment in time, the Watch Dogs IP is completely dead.’ He added that there are still Ubisoft employees who are very passionate about the franchise, but that Ubisoft has struggled to commit to the franchise. The last game in the Watch Dogs series was 2020’s Watch Dogs: Legion, which devs felt needed more development time. Henderson’s comments follow a recent restructuring at Ubisoft, in which a number of projects in-development have been reassessed. Ubisoft have yet to comment on the potential cancellation of the Watch Dogs series. #gaming #watchdogs #ubisoft #gamingnews
