Scientists are about to drill into the most inaccessible and least–understood part of the Thwaites Glacier. Worryingly, research has shown that if it collapses, the glacier will cause global sea levels to rise by a whopping 2.1ft – plunging entire communities underwater.  For this reason, it has been nicknamed the 'Doomsday Glacier'.  #doomsday #antartica #ice #Science
