Sony has confirmed that its Horizon Zero Dawn live-action movie will begin filming in 2026, with a 2027 release in sight. The film, produced by Columbia Pictures and PlayStation Productions, already has a finished script and is currently searching for a director. The update surfaced in a legal filing tied to Sony’s lawsuit against Tencent, where PlayStation Productions head Asad Qizilbash revealed new details about the project. Originally announced as a Netflix series in 2022, the adaptation shifted to a feature film following that show’s cancellation. The movie will center on Aloy, described by Sony as a “key icon” for the PlayStation brand. It joins a packed lineup of PlayStation adaptations, including Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone, and God of War. #sony #playstation #gaming #movie #horizonzerodawn
