As part of Kojima Productions’ 10th Anniversary livestream, it was revealed that A24’s upcoming Death Stranding movie will not be a direct adaptation but instead an original story set in the game’s world. Director Michael Sarnoski explained that the film will feature new characters and plotlines while still capturing the “soul and themes” of the game. Hideo Kojima won’t direct but is “deeply involved” in the project’s development. Alongside the live-action film, Kojima Productions also announced Mosquito, an animated Death Stranding movie written by Raised by Wolves creator Aaron Guzikowski. Mosquito will introduce fresh characters and ideas, further expanding the universe. Kojima emphasized that despite his other projects, Death Stranding remains a major creative focus. #hideokojima #gaming #deathstranding #movie #a24
