Subnautica 2 has been delayed to 2026 by publisher Krafton, despite its developers claiming it’s ready for Early Access. The delay could cost Unknown Worlds a $250 million payout tied to 2025 revenue targets, according to a Bloomberg report. This decision came just after Krafton fired the studio’s co-founders and replaced them with Striking Distance CEO Steve Papoutsis. In an internal meeting, Papoutsis denied that the delay was meant to block the earnout, but developers expressed concern over the timing. Co-founder Charlie Cleveland said the decision was a shock and expressed sadness over being removed from the studio he helped build. #subnautica #gaming #krafton #subnautica2
