Microsoft has cancelled the long-troubled Perfect Dark reboot and shut down Xbox studio The Initiative as part of a sweeping wave of layoffs affecting over 9,000 employees. The news was confirmed by Xbox Game Studios boss Matt Booty, who also revealed that Rare’s Everwild and several unannounced projects have been shut down. These drastic cuts are part of Microsoft's broader restructuring strategy to “focus on strategic growth areas,” according to an internal memo. #xbox #gaming #microsoft #perfectdark #gameplay
