Today is the eighth annual First-Year Convocation for freshmen students, which is going virtual this year. Tradition holds that #newanchors should touch the anchor on the Quad for good luck. Of course, this year that's not an option for most students. (And those of you who are on campus and do touch the anchor, please remember to wash and/or sanitize your hands immediately after!) So we're going to try something different this time around: Freshmen, if you want to start your first year with a little luck on your side, just count the number of squares in this grid that contain the anchor, then email the total to your RIC 100, COLL 101, HONR 150 or COLL 150 instructor. We've consulted the Academic Fates and they say this will be sufficient to honor the tradition and bring good luck! ⚓️ 🍀 To all our returning students, please help our newanchors feel welcome by wishing them good luck in the comments! . . . #RICNews #experienceRIC #RICSpirit #rhodeislandcollege #classof2024 #freshmen #new...
