goanchormen forward Ben Vezele was profiled in the provjournal this week by writer Bill Reynolds. “He was always the one who seemed a little different,” Reynolds notes. • The writer has actually known Ben since 2013, when he spent a year following the Hope High School #basketball team for his book, “Hope: A School, A Team, A Dream.” (Swipe ⬅️ to see.) • Back then Ben was just a kid growing up in #Providence, the son of a #Liberian family, “more grounded than many of the other kids he played with,” recalls Reynolds. “He is our answered prayer,” says Ben’s older sister, Yasah. • Now Ben is a junior who scored his career-best 30 points and pulled in 16 rebounds last week. “It feels like it’s been a long journey,” he told Reynolds. “But a good one. The longer you keep playing, it’s almost like a brotherhood.” #humansofRIC 📸x #providencejournal . . . #RICnews #RICspirit #ricathletics #anchorstrong #rhodeislandcollege #mensbasketball #collegebasketball #projo #pvd #hopehighschool #studentat...
