#flashbackfriday circa #1978 • These #bumperstickers were designed by Kevin Gatta, a #rhodeislandcollege student at the time, and printed with the help of Professor Chuck Batcher. • The top one was inspired by seeing cars stuck in the snow on #MtPleasant and #FruitHill Avenues in the wake of the #Blizzardof78. (Another one read, “Ski Fruit Hill.”) • The one on the bottom was a reference to The #Rathskeller (aka “The Rat”), the on-campus bar (those were different times, folks) located in the basement of ricstudentunion, where the cafe is today. “Area IV A.D.E.” refers to “Area Distribution Elective,” which was a part of the liberal arts curriculum. • Kevin Gatta has since gone on to an impressive career in #art. He is currently a Distinguished Professor at the prattinstitute. • Thanks to #RICalum & former RIC #artprofessor Gerry Perrino for finding and sharing these. He notes that he probably would have gotten an A in RAT 101. . . . #RICnews #RICspirit #RICalumni #artatRIC #fbf #flashba...
