Fred Harrison ‘07 is a #RICalum, but he didn’t take any ordinary path to becoming one. It wasn’t until he retired from a career in business that he decided to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a #teacher. Already in his 50s, he returned to #college to earn his second bachelors degree. Fred wants to make sure that others who are not so fortunate as he was have the same opportunity to pursue their dreams. That was why he pledged $20,000 to create the RIC 10-Day Giving Challenge, matching every dollar donated 2:1. The challenge quickly hit its goal - then people kept giving. That inspired Fred to give an additional $25,000, bringing the total amount raised to $68,000! Every dollar of that will directly benefit students who are pursuing their dreams.
