Jeremy Meeks, who rose to fame after his mugshot went viral years ago, says that strangers ended up taking his visitor slots while he was in jail, which kept his family from being able to see him. Meeks, now 42, shared on Matthew Cox’s podcast Inside True Crime that he was receiving hundreds of letters each day during his time in prison, along with money orders and photographs, while serving a sentence for felony gun charges. He originally gained public attention in 2014, when his mugshot spread widely online due to his striking blue eyes and sharply defined features. #jeremymeeks
