Stand by Me is a film I discovered through my love of Stephen King and River Phoenix when I was roughly 14 and you won’t be surprised to learn it had a lasting impression on me. I remember sobbing after the film and instantly sitting with my feelings as a kid, pondering the vast expectation and fear of the future.
