Zoo Berlin announced that giant panda Meng Meng has given birth to twins! This is the second time the 11-year-old panda has had twins. The cubs arrived on Thursday - born only 11 days after an ultrasound showed that Meng Meng was pregnant. The sex of the cubs has not yet been determined. ‘I am relieved that the two were born healthy. The little ones make a lively impression and mum Meng Meng takes great care of her offspring,’ says vet and zoo Director Dr. Andreas Knieriem. ‘With fewer than 2,000 adult giant pandas in their natural habitat, every single cub is an important contribution to the conservation of this endangered species. My heartfelt thanks therefore go to the entire team at the Panda Garden, whose excellent preparation and great commitment created the basis for this great moment.’ 📸: photo: Zoo Berlin 2024/ TMX #panda #animals #babyanimals #panda #babypanda #adorable #berlin #berlinzoo
