California Governor Gavin Newsom and his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, earned more than $1 million in taxable income each year between 2021 and 2024, according to copies of their federal tax filings. The tax filings are the first that Newsom's office has shared publicly since his reelection in 2022. They also come just weeks after Newsom, a Democrat and outspoken foe of Donald Trump, announced that he and his wife are the subjects of an ongoing Justice Department investigation. Newsom has blasted the probe as 'politically motivated' and an effort by the Trump administration to thwart his rumored 2028 presidential bid. 'Donald Trump isn't just coming after me because of my mean tweets,' Newsom said in a video shared to social media.
