#tbt to finding a rare + elusive Stream Orchid in a teal-colored swimming hole with mineral-rich water that stays an even 67 degrees year around. There were only 3 flowers left growing out from the rock wall with a rare kind of fern.; all the other flowers were past their blooming time – it was as if they had waited for us to arrive. We were so happy to have water shoes, because the black mud sank to about a foot deep, our feet getting stuck with each step while immersed in water up to our chests!⠀ #hotspringjunky
