Americans will be celebrating the Fourth of July holiday with loved ones, friends, and fireworks at this time every year.
Unfortunately, there is a high risk of injuries during this festive season, especially concerning fireworks-related injuries.
Some facts from 2021 from the CPSC:
In 2021, the parts of the body most often injured by fireworks were the hands and fingers (an estimated 31 percent of injuries), head, face, and ears (an estimated 21 percent).
About 32 percent of the emergency department-treated fireworks-related injuries in 2021 were for burns.
It is essential to celebrate safely and prevent firework-related hand injuries.
