A tubal ligation also known as getting your tubes tied or female sterilization is a surgical procedure done to prevent pregnancy.
It involves blocking or cutting the Fallopian tubes with the aim of preventing the egg and male sp3rm from connecting to prevent pregnancy.
It is a form of permanent birth control but doesn’t protect against STIs.
It might not be the right procedure for you if you are not certain you’ll never want to get pregnant.
Make sure to have an extensive discussion with your healthcare provider about the potential benefits and risks of the procedure before making a decision.
And yes you can still have your periods after the procedure as it has no direct effects on the ovaries which are left intact.
