Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) causes symptoms one to two weeks before a woman's menstrual period.
These symptoms tend to resolve shortly after the onset of menses.
There are a wide range of symptoms some of which may include fatigue, bloating, irritability, depression, and anxiety.
Mild PMS is common, affecting up to 75 percent of women with regular menstrual cycles. This condition can affect women of any socioeconomic, cultural, or ethnic background.
PMS symptoms are real and it is important to understand that, and avoid minimizing, criticizing, or laughing at symptoms.
