Meet our patient Troy. Diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, the nine-year-old completed chemotherapy at our Middleman Family Pavilion in King of Prussia, PA, back in June and celebrated with our staff! Troy developed an instant connection with one of our front desk security guards, Officer Charles Andrews. Every week during treatment, Troy would look for Officer Andrews to say hello, and when Troy found out he was in remission, he wanted Officer Andrews to be one of the very first people to hear the great news! On Troy's last day of chemotherapy, he handed out painted rocks, and of course, gifted one to Officer Andrews. In return, Officer Andrews asked for Troy's autograph, and keeps it at his desk as a reminder of his purpose at CHOP. Troy looks forward to going back to school in the fall and starting basketball season. He's also quite the artist and shared a couple of drawings with our Cancer Center staff as a token of appreciation. Way to go, Troy! 💛 #CHOPinKOP
