It is with profound sadness that the University Police Department announces the passing of our retired #K9Officer, Max. Max graduated from the newjerseystatepolice K9 course in 2008 & served at Montclair State as one of the first K9s in a new program at the University Police Department. Max assisted in investigations well beyond campus in Essex, Passaic and Somerset Counties, with the FBI and ATF. He was a beloved fixture on campus and in classrooms throughout the State, educating children on the duties of a working dog in law enforcement. Max retired in 2016 and became a continued friend at home to the Comerro family. Sadly, Max has passed away and the University Police Department will mark his passing with a month of mourning and by retiring Max’s badge number as a sworn member of the agency. 🐶🚔 #RIPK9Max #policedogs #MontclairStateUniversity #MontclairState #K9
