The comeback journey continues… This past weekend we went over to Fort Myers to compete in Thunder Performance’s Thunderstruck III Meet as one last tune-up leading up to States. After being away from competition for a couple years, I still had some nerves I wanted to shake off so we decided to add one last train-through meet to our comp schedule to try to shake those, and this was the perfect meet to do that at, alongside some of my long-time friends from that area and even greater of an experience was getting to share the day with Rebeca & to show her around the town a little bit, a town that means so much to me. On the platform: 🔥 4-for-6 day 🔥 Snatch: 46 🔥 Clean & Jerk: 60 🔥 Comeback Total: 106kg 🥇: 1st place in the women’s senior 55kg weight class. This meet wasn’t about maximal effort; but about technique, moving well, feeling what it is to control the nerves & adrenaline, & feeling confident getting back on a platform again.
