Sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata) is an aromatic shrub native widely in the western United States. In fact, Nevada, known as the “Sagebrush State,” features sagebrush on its state flag and as its state flower. Thriving in desert and mountainous habitats throughout the Great Basin region, sagebrush bears pale gray-green leaves and yellow flowers. Native Americans valued sagebrush and used it for a variety of medicinal and herbal functions.
