IN THIS WEEK’S "WHAT IS THAT THING?"... We’re not sure if we should fear them or join their collective. They are Calceolaria uniflora, known otherwise as Darwin’s Slipper Flower, Alien Flower or Slipperworts, and they were discovered during Charles Darwin’s voyage around South America. These little orange penguin-like creatures require a cool climate and are a perennial plant of the genus Calceolaria from southern South America. They grow to 10 cm tall and are a compound of yellow, white, and brownish-red. As they mature, they multiply into small colonies and that’s where we get concerned. Anyone try to grow these and did they get unruly? We'd love to hear about your special touch. So, thanks to AHS, now you know "what is that thing?" #garden #good #mygarden #gardenlife #mygarden
