If you or somebody in your household has asthma, allergies, or any other condition that’s affected by indoor air quality, we highly recommend splurging on a Miele canister vacuum—specifically, the Miele Complete C3 Calima. This Miele model uses bags, which can admittedly be less convenient and more expensive compared to a bagless vacuum. But the benefit of the bags is that they’re self-sealing: When you swap out the old one, it closes its own rubber flap as you remove it from the vacuum, so dust and allergens can’t escape that way. Using a vacuum with a completely sealed system like this can have a substantial positive impact on your indoor air quality.
