In anticipation of Nina Simone’s birthday this weekend, we are sharing this hypnotic double exposure photograph taken by Teenie Harris at the Hilton Hotel Ballroom in Pittsburgh late in 1968. . This double exposure was most likely not intentional. The result of shooting two images on the same negative, this is an unusual mistake for a photographer of Teenie's caliber. Perhaps he was in a hurry, or perhaps, he was so engrossed in Nina's music, he forgot to switch the film. . [Image description] A black and white image of a woman playing a piano. Because of the double exposure, she appears twice seated at the same bench but in different positions. . #NinaSimone #TeenieHarrisArchive #Pittsburgh #CarnegieMuseumofArt
