SMU head football coach Rhett Lashlee joins Golic & Golic to share his thoughts on ESPN’s FPI (Football Power Index) — and he doesn’t hold back. Lashlee questions how teams can move drastically up or down in FPI rankings during the offseason without a single game being played or injuries occurring, calling the system “rigged” and saying it erodes trust among coaches, players, and fans. The Mustangs’ head coach also makes it clear: while preseason metrics might be flawed, the real proving ground is on the field this fall.
