I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the very first Vaisakhi celebration organised by The ECB at the iconic Long Room at Lord’s. This event was a beautiful amalgamation of different faiths, uniting leaders from sports, business, and the Sikh community to commemorate this significant festival.
Kudos to the ECB EDI team for orchestrating such an impeccably organised event. The historical significance of the Long Room, where cricket legends have walked, added a layer of prestige. It was especially poignant to recall that Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala captained India here in 1911 and played for the MCC during their 1926/27 tour of India.
Events like these are essential for building community cohesion and deepening our understanding of the diverse cultural tapestry that enriches the UK. It was an enriching experience to meet and network with notable figures in industry and business, and to make new connections.
