What is Black Oakland? Come answer for yourself in Black Spaces: Reclaim & Remain—closing TOMORROW March 1 🖤 Dr. Brandi T. Summers and Archive of Urban Futures share why bringing Black archival materials together matters. Black Spaces brings together an artist, an archive, and an architect to explore displacement, resistance, and the power of reclaiming space in Oakland and the East Bay. Drawing from the Oakland Museum’s permanent collection and local repositories, it traces the rise of West Oakland and Russell City. Exploring the lasting impact of their displacement and the possibilities of their futures. Last chance to witness Black Spaces: Reclaim & Remain!
