Much of the political ephemera in our collection has not been on view for several decades. Now you can see buttons, ribbons, bumper stickers, and other highlights from past national and state elections in our new #virtualexhibition, "Forgotten Fight: The Struggle for Voting Rights in Maryland." Find the link to the exhibition in our bio. Image: Campaign button from the presidential election of either 1952 or 1956. A piece of paper with the name of either presidential candidate could be slid into the center window of the button to express support. This button expresses support for President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Maryland Center for History and Culture, 3D Objects Collection, 1986.35.1 #politicalbuttons #buttoncollection #electionseason #presidentialhistory #votingrights
