During quarantine, many people have found joy and stress relief from hobbies and activities. For Emily Martin, baking has been particularly therapeutic. “Baking, specifically baking bread, is nothing new to me but during all this time spent home during the pandemic my bread making has increased exponentially. It’s a great stress reliever. I like making quick breads, but there is nothing more relaxing than the kneading process of making a yeast bread. I have also had the time to modify basic recipes I know and love to create my own, like my Snickerdoodle Apple Quick Bread and my Chocolate Chip Braided Almond Loaves made with a toasted coconut dough. I have become the neighborhood bread fairy, leaving fresh baked loaves on the stoops of friends nearby.” What activity has helped you during quarantine?
