We miss the Orioles over at Camden Yards right now, but on this #FilmFriday we are enjoying a clip from the archives featuring Paul Richards speaking about the Orioles farm system and building a strong team.
Richards served as both Orioles field manager and general manager from 1955 to 1958, and then continued to hold the field manager post until 1961. The notoriously taciturn Richards is known for orchestrating a 17-player trade with the New York Yankees – the largest trade in baseball history.
Clip from “Play Ball with the Orioles,” 1957, produced by Gunther Brewing Company.
