It's not too late to register for this week's lecture, "Inspirations Behind Maryland’s Unique Quilt Tradition," Thursday, March 7, 6:30 pm, at the Maryland Historical Society. Alden O’Brien, Curator of Costumes and Textiles at the Daughters of the American Revolution Museum, will present the lecture about how English quilt traditions, decorative arts trends, Maryland furniture and even local Baltimore life inspired quilt makers to develop quilt styles that fit within regional traditions, yet were uniquely Maryland, from early 1800s chintz appliqué, to the famous Baltimore Album quilts at mid-century. Cost is $50 for members and nonmembers and includes a food and wine reception after the lecture. Doors open at 6 pm! #marylandhistory #baltimoreapplique #applique #handquilting #appliquequilts #baltimoreappliquesociety #quilting #quilt #quilts
