Sometimes a seemingly ordinary object can be hiding a more extraordinary story. For this #FashionFriday we take a closer look at what appears to be a turn of the century man's linen duster. It has some staining and discoloration, and is mended time and time again. So who wore this duster? A working man stretching the lifetime of his clothes to save money? Actually, It turns out it was owned by a woman, Miss Sallie Webster Dorsey, from an old Baltimore family who appeared more than once in the Baltimore Sun social pages. Miss Dorsey however was more than a socialite. Learn more about her in this week's Fashion Archives blog, "Miss Dorsey's Duster" (link in bio). #FashionFridays #WomensHistory #MarylandHistory #HiddenStories #BaltimoreSun #20thCenturyFashion #TurnoftheCenturyFashion #VintageDuster #HistoricMending
