Remember when the Orioles and Colts shared Memorial Stadium? A lecture at MdHS on Sept. 12, 5:30 pm, will look at the social and cultural connections of Baltimore’s professional sports teams, the Orioles and the Colts, to the local community during the 1960s - particularly how players and management responded to the 1968 Baltimore riots after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Comparisons will be made to April 2015 when the Baltimore Orioles infamously played to empty stands to avoid the potential of violence.
