#Beads, #rhinestones, and #pearls, oh my! This week we took a 1960s evening gown #OutofTheBox and we were just wowed with the beadwork! This dress donated by Mr. Francis S. Whitman, Jr. was worn by his mother, a Mrs. Ral Parr (Sonia Walsh), and it was one of her favorites according to him. We can see why, as the creamy ivory chiffon dress would have flowed around her as she moved. The bodice stands out with a bright green velvet bow and leaf embroidery, with lots of tiny beads and rhinestones that sparkle as they catch the light. In this detail you can see white lily of the valley beads with rhinestones at the center as well as artificial pearls, clear beads, and sequins. A little sparkle, a lot of elegance!
