Step inside the studio with Saif Azzuz! Saif shares his process behind his paintings like ”that time will come” on view at the Oakland Museum of California. Saif is a Libyan-Yurok artist who resides in Pacifica, CA. His work explores our relationships to the land, using images from cultural burns his mother takes as a starting point for his painting process. “Good Fire: Tending Native Lands” explores how Native communities in Northern California have used controlled fire—also called “good fire” or “cultural burning”—to care for the land and sustain traditions for millennia. Organized in collaboration with Native Northern California fire practitioners, artists, ecologists, and cultural leaders, the exhibition reframes fire as an essential tool for supporting healthy ecosystems and vibrant communities. 📍Now on view at OMCA through May 31, 2026. 🎟We hope you stop by: tickets at the link in bio #GoodFireOMCA #TheOaklandMuseum #IndigenousStewardship #CulturalBurning #LandBack
